Hicksville, NY (September 25, 2014) – The American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (APOMA) will hold its 2014 Technical Workshop Nov. 10-11, at the University of Arizona in Tucson. This members-only event brings together optics technical and operations leaders to discuss the latest developments and challenges in advanced optical manufacturing. Universal Photonics’ Vice President of Field Applications, Justin Mahanna, is Program Chair for the event, which will feature presentations on freeform optics, optical polishing, metrology, among other topics.

“This program is really unique,” Justin Mahanna said. “It’s one of the few designed specifically for operational and technical peers. We’re proud of the technical learning program, but the real magic is in the sharing and collaboration among our members.”

Universal Photonics’ engineers, Troy Alley (sapphire processing) and Christopher Russell (napped pads), will give presentations on single and double-sided polishing applications.
