Hastilite RS

Hastilite RS and RS-1 are highly concentrated, 50% solid, rare earth oxide based slurries. Hastilite RS and RS-1 were designed for high removal rate, excellent surface finishes, and uniform particle size. Hastilite RS and RS-1 were designed to provide low roughness, low scatter finishes making it great to meet or exceed most precision optical surface requirements.

Application

Dilute Hastilite RS and RS-1 with water, preferably RO or DI water. For specific application recommendations, please consult with UPI’s technical staff.
Hastilite RS-1 is ideal for pitch polishing where foaming action is desired. The foaming will help to fill the void where a specific foam is desired for a high degree of accuracy in polishing. Hastilite RS-1 will foam in aggressive polishing operations (CNC polishing with a recirculated slurry). Foaming should be monitored during initial testing of the slurry and Universal X-Defoamer can be used to curb the foaming as necessary. Only a few drops of Universal X-Defoamer is necessary per gallon of mixed slurry.
