UPI carriers are manufactured to deliver consistent, reliable results. Our engineering team will take a drawing, digital blueprint, or sample part through design, beta testing and production. Need a custom drawing or require carriers manufactured from raw materials other than those listed below? No problem. We’ll produce to your exact specifications.

POPULAR CARRIER MATERIALS^*
LAMITEX	Epoxy-based material reinforced with fiberglass. Solid alternative to steel; also known as G-10 & FR-4.
PVC	Thermoplastic vinyl, commonly used for lapping thick parts. High strength-to-weight ratio & economical cost.
LEXAN	Polycarbonate plastic without fiber reinforcement, Lexan discourages scratching in polishing applications.
PHENOLIC	Stronger than most plastics, Phenolic is a resin binder reinforced with cotton fabric. Typically used with oil-based slurries.
VINYL	Softer than Lexan, it is an economical choice for short runs on smaller machines.

Manufacturing carriers in-house allows UPI engineers and technicians to review designs, carefully inspect materials, closely monitor production, and ultimately, deliver tolerances that promote flatness and boost surface finish.
