Description
#70C Lakeside Cement is a clear holding cement with properties of a thermoplastic material, generally used as an optical adhesive and a blocking or holding media for use in a wide variety of applications. It ca be used to hold parts, which must be diced, polished, machined, core drilled, etc. Due to its semi-clear appearance, it can be used for microscopic sample mounting and lens work where transparency is a factor.
Application
Depending on application, #70C Lakeside Cement can be applied in two basic methods:
Pre-melt #70C Lakeside Cement in a controlled heating vessel, and apply or pour molten pitch to blocking plate or lap, and then mount the workpiece.
Pre-heat the blocking plate or lap and work piece, and wipe the pitch across the heated tool and mount the workpiece.
#70C Lakeside Cement can be removed from the parts by using anhydrous alcohol. For best results, please consult with UPI technical staff to recommend optimal processing conditions.
