Description
#50 Cementing Foil is a special woven black material soaked in synthetic resin for cementing optical lenses and flat plano work pieces onto multiple blocks. #50 Cement Foil is commonly used for blocking together a series of lenses or work pieces that are to be edged or profiled.
Application
When cementing round optics, use stencil cement plates that are smaller than the lens diameter by 1-2 mm so the artificial resin may completely come out of the woven material. Pre-heat multiple blocks with a glass-flame or heat plate to roughly 100°C, pre-heat the work pieces to about 35°C and press onto the tool together with the cement plates.
#50 Cementing Foil can be removed from the parts by using Uniclear. For best results, please consult with UPI technical staff to recommend optimal processing conditions.
