Description
Optical Quality Rosin Low Melt is an excellent non-crystalline ready to use rosin obtained from pine resin. It leaves a non-volatile, transparent, brittle glassy solid ideal for blocking precision optical lenses. Optical Quality Rosin Low Melt can be added to any natural polishing pitch to increase the hardness, tack, and friction.
Application
Depending on application, Optical Quality Rosin Low Melt can be applied in two basic methods:
Pre-melt Optical Quality Rosin Low Melt in a controlled heating vessel, and apply or pour molten rosin to blocking plate or lap, and then mount the workpiece.
Pre-heat the blocking plate or lap and work piece, and wipe the rosin across the heated tool and mount the workpiece.
Optical Quality Rosin Low Melt can be removed from the parts by using Uniclear. For best results, please consult with UPI technical staff to recommend optimal processing conditions.
