Description

Unasil is an alpha silicon carbide (SiC) that possesses high thermal conductivity. Unasil has high strength at elevated temperatures, 7.5 times stronger than aluminum oxide at 1000°C. UPI offers grit sizes from 10 – 1200 mesh (approximately 1,800 to 3 micron).

Application

Unasil is used for polishing, lapping, or blasting compounds, vitrified & resinoid wheels. Unasil is primarily used for grinding & finishing non-ferrous & non-metallic materials. For best results, please consult with UPI technical staff to recommend optimal processing conditions.
