Central Islip, NY (December 28, 2022) Universal Photonics® Incorporated (UPI), global manufacturer and distributor of critical surfacing and polishing technology, is proud to announce its participation in the 2023 Photonics Spectra Online Conference, January 9th - 12th. UPI’s webinar, presented by Christopher Russell, Senior Field Application Engineer, will discuss the effects of coolant on fixed diamond lapping pads when processing hard optics. The webinar will go live on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at 3:00 PM EST. Registration, is free, but required.
The 3rd annual Photonics Spectra Conference is a four-day online event showcasing four technology tracks, allocating one day to each of the following tracks: Lasers, Optics, Test & Measurement, and Photonic Integrated Circuits. The program features 60 industry-leading speakers presenting on a wide range of topics, including the latest developments in materials processing, spaceborne optical platforms, freeform optics, beam profiling, optical metrology, lasers for quantum computing, and the fast-expanding applications driving demand for PIC technology.
Christopher Russell has been a team member of UPI since the mid-aughts. A Clarkson University alumnus, Russell came on board as an engineer in UPI’s quality control lab. His expertise and time spent in the industry allows him to provide helpful insight on hard optics processing. Discussing the effects of coolant on fixed diamond lapping pads throughout the process, Chris identifies critical parameters (e.g. coolant type, working pressure, conditioning particle, and platen speeds) to successfully achieve specific desired results. A live Q&A is built into the presentation, so he can address questions, comments or concerns.
